The artist Tamer Hosny revealed his stance on retiring from art, following the circulation of an old statement in which he expressed his wish to pass away without being a singer. He mentioned that he thinks about retirement all the time for various reasons, primarily because he has many projects and dreams outside of art that he hopes to achieve.
When asked directly about his desire to retire from singing for religious reasons, Tamer responded with hesitation, saying that the idea of retirement exists for him and that the reasons are numerous. He had previously stated that he wants to achieve other dreams.
In statements to Abu Dhabi TV during his recent concert at Expo 2020 in Dubai, Tamer clarified, "I have previously expressed my wish to retire from art for religious reasons, and I constantly think about the decision to retire. However, I currently have other reasons, and I don't know when I will make the decision."
Tamer also praised the role of the press in an artist's life, noting its importance in highlighting their efforts and thanking all the respected journalists who attended the event for coverage.
Tamer Hosny held a historic concert last Thursday at the Dubai Expo 2020, where he achieved the highest audience attendance in the festival with 100,000 people. He impressed everyone with his unique giant stage, professional performances, and solo guitar and piano playing. Organizers of the concert praised the generational star, stating, "Finally, an Arab artist with global specifications."
Tamer performed a large number of his beloved songs, including "Mabtalnash Ehsas," "Kol Marra," "Helw El Makaan," "Yana Ya Mafeesh," "Erga'li," as well as "Qisma w Naseeb" and "Sa'bah." The audience greatly engaged with him, affirming that Tamer Hosny is the most comprehensive artist in the history of Arabic music, as he sings, composes, acts, produces, and directs his clips.
Tamer shared several photos from the concert on his Instagram account with a caption that read, "I am honored to have the largest audience at Expo Dubai. Thank you to the UAE and thank you to all the dear audience who attended from all over the Arab world and the world."
In another development, media personality Mona El Shazly will host Tamer Hosny in a special interview on her program "Ma'akum Mona El Shazly" to celebrate New Year's on Friday at 9 PM on CBC channel.
