Trump Attacks Biden Again: He Has Humiliated Our Country Unprecedentedly

Former U.S. President Donald Trump launched a sharp attack on current President Joe Biden in light of what he described as "the disaster unfolding" in the Afghan capital, Kabul. In an interview with Fox News aired late Wednesday into Thursday, Trump stated that Biden has humiliated the United States more than any other president in history. He considered Biden's hasty withdrawal decision from Afghanistan to surpass the actions of former President Jimmy Carter in 1979 during the hostage crisis at the U.S. Embassy in Iran.

Trump had issued a statement on Sunday, calling for Biden's resignation following the Taliban takeover of Kabul, accusing Biden of mismanagement in other matters such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Since leaving the White House last January, former President Trump has largely stepped away from the spotlight, appearing in only a few interviews and issuing several press statements. However, the interview with Fox News appeared to be particularly significant given the rapid developments in Afghanistan.

The former president remarked, "It's a terrible time for our country. I don't think our country has been humiliated to this extent in all these years. I don't know what you call it, a military defeat or a psychological defeat."

He commented on the tragic events at the Kabul airport, noting, "I saw the huge cargo plane, where some tried to cling to its side in an attempt to escape Afghanistan due to their tremendous fear (as I saw) those who fell from the plane from a height of 600 meters." He added, "No one has ever seen anything like this before," pointing out that what happened in Kabul surpassed the famous evacuation efforts in Saigon, Vietnam, in 1975.

Trump claimed that he had warned Taliban Political Office chief Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar during their well-known call last year that the U.S. would respond tenfold if an American was harmed or if militants invaded specific areas. The former U.S. president believed that what happened in Afghanistan, where the Taliban seized power in days, was a result of a deal with local authorities, leaving Americans and Westerners stranded. Trump revealed that he did not trust the fleeing Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and his government at all, considering them corrupt and solely money-driven.
