Following the controversy that arose in recent days regarding the truth of the marriage status of Egypt's goalkeeper Mohamed Abu Jabal and his Algerian wife, Princess Samara Yahya, the player remained silent with an ambiguous comment, prompting her to respond with fiery statements, saying she believed he was "much smarter."
The social status of goalkeeper Mohamed Abu Jabal had raised speculations and many questions, as he and his wife had unfollowed each other on social media and deleted all their joint photos after a marriage that lasted less than a year. These questions exploded on social media after the overwhelming success the player achieved by leading his country to the final of the Africa Cup of Nations, making him the talk of the hour in Egypt and the Arab world.
Abu Jabal was a guest on a Egyptian television program on Thursday evening, and when asked about his marital status, he refused to clarify whether he was married or had divorced his wife, simply laughing and stating there were "problems."
This comment appeared to anger Yahya, prompting her to respond via the "story" feature on her Instagram account, saying: "For a while, I shut down the topic and held my anger in my heart, because first, it is a personal matter, and second, I am not the type who exploits problems to become (trending), and third, out of respect for both families."
She continued: "But unfortunately, the other party's thinking was not like mine. I expected him to give a much smarter answer and a better way."
Yahya indicated that "there is not a single channel or newspaper that has not contacted her" for a comment, affirming she "chose silence because homes have secrets."
She added: "Thank God I have enough awareness and responsibility not to talk about the subject until it ends in a way that God sees as good for us, but since the matter has taken on a larger dimension and hurt me and those who love me, I would like to ask you something, as your sister, to close the topic today and leave creation to the creator."
Yahya continued: "There is a lot I want to say in response to the statements and false rumors, and the people who exploited the situation and hurt me, but the right time will come to speak."
She concluded her remarks defiantly: "Keep in mind that I am a free Algerian, and an Algerian never falls, thank God."
Yahya ended her statement by confirming that many people abandoned her in her hardship, saying: "No joy lasts, nor does sorrow last... and those days we circulate among people."
