Hezbollah's Secretary-General, Hassan Nasrallah, emphasized that the US and international interest in Lebanon since 2005 revolves around the issue of resistance weapons and addressing it in favor of "Israel." He stated that if Lebanon and its people mattered to the Americans or Europeans, we would not witness such hostile policies against the Lebanese people.
In a speech today, Nasrallah noted that the issue of the Beirut port explosion should not be politicized and must remain a national issue, avoiding the transformation into a sectarian, regional, or political matter. He vowed that Hezbollah will pursue the investigation, judiciary, and accountability regarding the port explosion until the end, asserting, "We are determined that the file of the port explosion reaches its just conclusion."
Nasrallah revealed that the port explosion file has been used since the very first moment against Hezbollah, concerning talks about rockets and munitions. He expressed his interest in knowing the truth behind the Beirut port explosion and holding the responsible parties accountable, emphasizing the need to uncover whether it was a destructive act or the result of negligence.
He explained that the investigating judge is focusing on assigning administrative responsibilities without clarifying the actual circumstances of the port explosion, urging the judge to inform the Lebanese people about what happened in the case. Nasrallah called for correcting the course of the judicial investigation into the port explosion and reiterated the call to announce the investigation results.
He further highlighted that US pressures on Lebanese banks led many depositors to transfer their funds to the Qard Hassan Institution, and that US sanctions on Hezbollah and its affiliates, along with the performance of Lebanese banks, contributed to this shift towards Qard Hassan. Nasrallah clarified that the Qard Hassan Institution is not meant to serve a specific party, sect, or environment but is open to all people. He asserted that the campaign against Qard Hassan is programmed and funded to intimidate its contributors, yet the institution will not collapse regardless of the circumstances. Nasrallah concluded that the response to US sanctions is to deposit more funds into the Qard Hassan Institution.
