The Army Command issued a statement concerning the Naqoura meeting related to recent incidents along the Blue Line.
The National News Agency reported that the Directorate of Guidance in the Army Command issued a statement indicating that on February 2, 2021, an exceptional tripartite meeting was held in Naqoura, chaired by the commander of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, Major General Stefano Del Col, in the presence of a delegation of Lebanese Army officers headed by the Lebanese government's coordinator with the UN forces, Brigadier General Hassib Abdo, under strict COVID-19 prevention measures.
The agency added that the meeting addressed recent incidents along the Blue Line, including the kidnapping of a shepherd, an attempted kidnapping, and the theft of cattle. The army's statement emphasized the Lebanese side's condemnation of the ongoing violations by the Israeli enemy regarding Lebanese sovereignty, by land, sea, and air, as well as the frequent overflights and continuous violations by Israeli aircraft over Lebanese territory.
The Lebanese side reiterated its commitment to UN resolutions, particularly Resolution 1701 and all its provisions. The statement emphasized the necessity for the Israeli enemy to withdraw from all occupied territories, including: the area adjacent to the northern Blue Line, the Shebaa Farms, the Kfarshouba Hills, the northern section of the Ghajar area, and the occupied B1 area. It reasserted the need to include the occupied B1 area in upcoming UN reports and resolutions, similar to other mentioned occupied areas.
