She continued: "I did not intend to insult the residents of Zamalek, of whom I am one. My family still lives there. I apologize if my words were misunderstood or upset or hurt anyone; this was an unintentional mistake." She clarified: "I am writing this because I found posts circulating about the topic and a surge of anger surrounding that sentence."
