Haifa Wehbe's First Comment After Winning the Case Against Mohammed Waziry

The Lebanese artist Haifa Wehbe once again shared the text of the recent ruling against her former manager, Mohammed Waziry, sentencing him to five years in prison with hard labor for embezzlement and fraud, alongside civil compensation and the obligation to cover expenses and attorney fees, as well as freezing his assets and all properties. She posted this via the "story" feature on her personal Instagram page.

Haifa wrote: "I express my gratitude and appreciation to the advisor Yasser Qantoush, the lawyer, and also a big thank you to Dr. Rania Al-Munawy, the lawyer, and the legal team from their offices for the tremendous effort they have exerted and continue to exert in the upcoming cases." She continued: "I also express my appreciation for the esteemed Egyptian judiciary and reaffirm our trust in a fair judiciary... This case is among a series of other cases whose rulings we are awaiting, and victory is only from God, and thanks be to God."

Haifa Wehbe received congratulations for her victory in the case, which has stirred significant controversy over the past few months, confirming that Waziry is the one who got himself entangled with the artist and did not agree to amicable solutions or returning her rights peacefully, which led her to resort to the judiciary for a definitive resolution.

An Egyptian court issued a ruling on Monday evening to punish Mohammed Waziry, the former manager of Lebanese artist Haifa Wehbe, with a five-year sentence for embezzling and defrauding her of 63 million Egyptian pounds after hearing several sessions where Waziry’s defense asked for his acquittal and the public prosecution's statements were presented.

The public prosecution in Egypt began investigations into the case and listened to Haifa’s statements, where she detailed her acquaintance with Mohammed Waziry, explaining that she met him in 2016 to work on a special album for her, before appointing him in February 2017 as her manager under a verbal agreement during the filming of the series "Al-Harbaya," in which she starred.

Haifa explained to the court that she had been granting him special power of attorney since that time to act on her behalf in signing contracts and receiving her funds in exchange for him taking 10% of her fees for each concert.

Haifa accused her former manager of embezzling 44 million and 290 thousand pounds, in addition to 2 million and 127 thousand dollars, which were amounts she handed to him for purchasing real estate units, as well as 8.5 million pounds for a unit he obtained from a film producer for her, but allegedly appropriated it for himself, according to her claims, along with the value of contracts for artistic works and concerts.

It is noteworthy that the Egyptian prosecution had received from Haifa Wehbe a flash drive containing 20 audio clips with recordings of conversations between her and Waziry during various events, justifying her recordings to safeguard her rights and prove the existence of a professional relationship between them, as well as his receipt of funds to purchase real estate units on her behalf for investing her money.
