The artist Ali Hamida was laid to rest at his final resting place after his funeral was held at Al-Fath Mosque in Marsa Matrouh, attended by his family and a few friends.
Media outlets noted the complete absence of his colleagues from the artistic community, as no one attended, and the ceremony was limited to the late artist's family and a few relatives and friends. Adel Nafei, Ali Hamida's nephew, wrote on his personal Facebook page: "Thank God for the good ending on Friday night... After performing the afternoon prayer, and after concluding the prayer and praises, he finished his words with gratitude to God after pronouncing the two testimonies, he passed away to the mercy of God. Indeed, we belong to God, and indeed to Him we shall return."
The late artist had recently been discharged from the hospital, where he had been receiving treatment after suffering from a health crisis. Although he had not fully recovered, doctors allowed him to leave the hospital at his request, as he asked them to continue his treatment at home. Ali Hamida's family revealed that he was suffering from cancer, and he had gallstones, which led to blockage and health complications in the colon.
It is worth mentioning that Ali Hamida was an Egyptian singer and one of the most prominent vocalists of the 1980s, known for his famous song "Lawlak" which, under the arrangement of musician Hamid Al-Shahry and his band, caused a significant revolution in the world of Arab music when it was released in 1988. He then released several other albums, including "Kuni Li" and "Nadili," and starred in a cinematic film titled "Lawlak" and participated in the film "Mawled Nagem."
