Sergio Busquets, the midfielder for Barcelona, believes that his team is capable of defeating their traditional rivals, Real Madrid, tomorrow (Wednesday) in the semifinal of the Spanish Super Cup. During today’s press conference, Busquets stated: "We have a great desire and enthusiasm to compete for the title and win it, as this will give us a lot of confidence to face the remainder of the season. We expect a very balanced match, with each team relying on its strengths."
He added: "We have started a new phase with a new coach and young players, and everyone wants to play in the Clásico." Regarding the points difference in La Liga, he explained: "That is the points difference in La Liga, but tomorrow is just one match. In the last Clásico held at Camp Nou, they won against us, and we had chances and moments where we played very well."
He continued: "It is true that we are better physically, but we must not make excuses. We have the confidence and ambition to win tomorrow and reach the final on Sunday." He noted: "We hope to break the streak of results in the Clásico, and we will try to play our style, score goals, be more solid, and pay attention to the details."
He added: "Winning tomorrow will give us a lot of confidence and qualify us for the final match. We are on the right track, and the team is performing better. We must be patient and take it step by step, and we will be able to fight for all matches and titles."
He pointed out: "In the Clásico, everything is equal regardless of the points difference in La Liga. I hope we will recover all players as soon as possible and play like in the last Clásico where we created chances, but we need to be very careful." He explained: "There have been matches in La Liga where we lost points in the final minutes, but we must work harder, and when we have more luck and control the details, victories will come, and we will improve further."
He concluded, "I am very happy with the young players; football is moving faster, and young players should not be under pressure; we must make use of their talents, as they can shape the club's path in the present and the future."
