Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Receives Solidarity Calls as Coalition Strikes Houthi Positions in Sanaa

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, received phone calls yesterday from several leaders expressing solidarity following the Houthi militia's attacks on civil facilities and areas in the United Arab Emirates. The leaders included his brother King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan, King Mohammed VI of Morocco, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, all condemning the Houthi militia's aggression.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation condemned the attack, affirming that this nefarious targeting would not go unpunished. The coalition's response was swift and strong, striking Houthi positions in Sanaa amidst widespread Arab, international, and UN condemnations of Houthi terrorism.

In a phone call with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, King Abdullah II expressed Jordan's solidarity with the UAE in facing threats to its security and stability, asserting that the security of the UAE is integral to Jordan's own safety. He also extended his condolences to the victims of the terrorist attack and wished for the swift recovery of the injured. In turn, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed expressed his deep gratitude for the sincere fraternal feelings shown by King Abdullah II towards the UAE and its people.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed also received a call from King Mohammed VI of Morocco, who condemned the Houthi attacks that resulted in casualties. The Moroccan king expressed his heartfelt condolences to the victims and reiterated Morocco's unwavering support for the UAE's responses to the Houthi militia's heinous assaults.

Likewise, he received a call from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia, who condemned the Houthi militia's aggressive acts against civil facilities in the UAE, expressing his condolences and wishes for the quick recovery of the injured. Both sides agreed that these terrorist acts that targeted the UAE and Saudi Arabia would strengthen their resolve to counter such aggression, highlighting the need for the international community to stand against these violations of international laws and condemn these terrorist acts threatening regional and global peace and security.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation condemned the targeting of civilian areas and facilities by the Houthi militia, asserting that no punishment would be spared for such attacks. The Ministry stated that the UAE retains its right to respond to these acts of terrorism and criminal escalation, describing the attacks as a heinous crime committed by the Houthi militia in violation of international and humanitarian laws. The Ministry called on the international community to condemn these terrorist actions targeting civilians and civilian facilities.

In the meantime, Abu Dhabi Police reported that they responded to two aircraft incidents yesterday morning, one of which caused a limited fire in a refined product loading station in the Musaffah area and another fire in a currently inactive new construction area next to Abu Dhabi International Airport’s main building. It was previously announced that they had controlled a fire caused by an explosion, resulting in the death of one Pakistani national and two Indian nationals, with six others injured.

In response to the Houthi terrorist act, the Coalition to Support Legitimacy announced strikes in Sanaa, stating that they targeted terrorist leaders in northern Sanaa. The coalition considers the Houthi militia's targeting of civilian sites in Saudi Arabia and the UAE as war crimes. Coalition spokesman, Brigadier General Turki al-Maliki, indicated that these acts necessitate holding the perpetrators accountable and that the coalition would undertake necessary operational measures to deter the Houthi militia's hostile actions against civilians and civilian facilities.
