Mysterious Tragedy: Groom Ends His Life 30 Minutes After Wedding

A mysterious tragedy occurred in the Badrasheen area of Giza, Egypt, where a groom took his own life just 30 minutes after the wedding ceremony. Investigations revealed that the young man committed suicide inside the bathroom after stabbing himself multiple times with the intent to end his life. The victim, aged 26, was the youngest of three brothers and had been suffering from a severe psychological crisis for which he had been receiving treatment for years. His mother believed that marriage would change his life for the better.

Approximately a year and a half ago, the groom’s mother introduced him to a girl from their village, and he agreed to marry her, leading to an engagement. A few months later, they moved into a marital home near his mother's residence. The young man showed no clear signs of suicidal intent; he appeared cheerful during the pre-wedding henna ceremony and at the wedding itself. However, once he isolated himself in the bathroom after the wedding, he stabbed himself with a knife in a bid to end his life.

The young man lay in a pool of blood for about 30 minutes, until his bride grew concerned and went to check on him. She found him bleeding, with the knife beside him. "I was still in my dress, he told me he was going to the bathroom, and I sat on the bed waiting for him to come out. When he took too long, I sensed something was wrong, so I opened the bathroom door and found him dead."

Immediately, the wife screamed and rushed to alert his family, saying, "Help me, my husband has killed himself in the bathroom and is covered in blood." His family hurried to discover the situation, and they quickly took him to a hospital in an attempt to save him, but he passed away before arrival due to his injuries.

Statements from the groom's family during investigations revealed that he had been suffering from severe psychological issues, and they believed that marriage would solve this crisis, but it turned out otherwise. The bride’s account, which was confirmed in police investigations, indicated that the death resulted from the groom's intentional act and did not raise any suspicions of foul play. It was established that he entered the adjacent kitchen, grabbed the knife, then went into the bathroom, closed the door, and stabbed himself in the abdomen.

The bride noted that her husband seemed normal during the wedding procession, and when they arrived at their home, he only spoke two words to her before entering the bathroom: “I’m going to the bathroom.” She mentioned that she sat on the bed, embarrassed, waiting for him to come out, but when he took too long, she knocked on the bathroom door. When there was no response, she opened the door and found him lying on the floor, drenched in his blood.
