Call of the Homeland: "Hezbollah" Engages in Elections to Secure a Majority that Protects Its Arms

Call of the Homeland:

The newspaper "Call of the Homeland" wrote: Following the campaign by the Aounist movement during the "Vatican visit," which saw flawed and blatant attempts to rally the papal position against the sovereign and national proposals of Bkerke, framing it within a supportive context for "minority" narratives and theories of bias towards the resistance axis while assigning the task of protecting Christians to the regimes of this axis in the region and to the arms of "Hezbollah" in Lebanon... the Vatican was quick to thwart this agenda, distancing the papal position from conspiracies and dubious political aims. The "Feast of the Annunciation" served as a broad entry point to refocus the compass and reveal the truth, as the Vatican praised Patriarch Al-Rahi on this occasion and bestowed "apostolic blessing" upon his ecclesiastical and national steps, as conveyed in the "congratulatory message" delivered by Papal Ambassador Joseph Spiteri from the Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin, in addition to receiving a similar congratulatory message from the head of public ecclesiastical affairs at the Vatican Secretariat.

As it has done during other crucial national events, Bkerke continues to lead the defense of the state and its sovereignty, firmly resisting the fierce attack on identity and entity. It prayed yesterday for the night of "seditions, hatreds, collapse, hegemony, falsehood, and the obstruction of the constitution, system, and charter while stepping outside of the state and legality and striking institutions" that has plagued Lebanon under the grip of the ruling class. The focus, in this context, was on the "selective, vengeful, electoral, politicized judiciary with pre-constructed files," particularly exposing the judiciary of the "ruling duo" that operates at the behest of the "Free Patriotic Movement" and "Hezbollah" for vengeful and electoral purposes, according to what monitoring sources read in Patriarch Al-Rahi's sermon yesterday, whether in condemning the performance of Judge Ghada Aoun or denouncing the claim by Government Commissioner to the Military Court Judge Fadi Akiki against the leader of the "Lebanese Forces" Samir Geagea regarding the events of Tayouneh - Ain El Remmaneh, alongside a clear warning that the goal could be to "cancel the elections" through escalating tensions and shifting the country "to an oppressive and police-like atmosphere similar to bygone totalitarian regimes."

However, the most striking message in its implications came from directly addressing "the dysfunction in Aounist presidential performance," as sources noted, especially since the Maronite Patriarch "directly linked the salvation of Lebanon to the election of a new president," and from this perspective did not hide his urgency for "relief" from the presidency of Michel Aoun. He called for activating Article 73 of the constitution and "electing a new president before two months from the end of Aoun's term," hoping that "the new president would uplift the country and steer it away from axes toward neutrality and put an end to this collapse and ruin," according to the expression of Al-Rahi, who emphasized after his recent visit to Cairo "the need for good governance and essential reforms" that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is pursuing, stressing that "the State of Lebanon awaits such an enlightened and wise president to save its people."

On the other side, while Judge Aoun quickly responded to the Maronite Patriarch with a tweet opposing his positions, affirming her commitment to "judicial jihad," officials and MPs of "Hezbollah" articulated more electoral positions over the weekend. Their essence revolved around accusing political opponents of being agents of Israel and America, affirming that the "party" and its allies seek to achieve a central goal: to win a parliamentary majority that will be responsible for "protecting the arms of the resistance."

In this sense, the emphasis from Hezbollah Executive Council Chairman Hisham Safi al-Din was on the fact that voting in the elections will support "the resistance option and its defense," in the face of "some internal elements linked to the American agenda, or some cowardly, frightened internal elements from the U.S.," warning that "the data in the region have changed, world equations are shifting, and Lebanon will certainly be influenced by everything happening, with its future written by the strong, not the weak."

Under the same electoral headings, MP Mohammed Ra'ad, head of the "Loyalty to the Resistance" bloc, emphasized the necessity of adhering to the arms of "Hezbollah," asserting that this "weapon is the only guarantee for preserving Lebanon's sovereignty." He added: "What concerns us in the electoral entitlement is to win for the path that preserves the resistance." Similarly, Hezbollah Central Council member Sheikh Nabil Qaouq followed the same accusatory electoral line, considering that the "party" is waging the electoral battle against "the tools of embassies and those who serve Israel," aiming to protect "the identity of Lebanon as a resistance" ... While prominent Jaafari Mufti Sheikh Ahmed Qabalan summarized the Shiite duo's stance on the electoral entitlement with an expression that embodies many implications, stating: "International criticism conditions can go to hell... The battle is not in Baalbek and the South but across the electoral districts to secure a parliamentary majority that rescues the political decision from the claws of Washington and external interests," adding, in conveying counter-messages to Bkerke's sovereign orientations: "To some, I say Lebanon is a message of peace protected by the arms of the resistance, and there is no existence for Lebanon without the arms of the resistance."
