Mohamed Salah Breaks Down in Hysterical Tears... Here's Why

Khaled El-Drandly, the Vice President of the Egyptian Football Association, revealed Mohamed Salah's reaction following the defeat against Senegal and the loss of the dream to qualify for the 2022 World Cup. El-Drandly stated in remarks on the "On Time Sports" radio channel that "Mohamed Salah broke down in tears in the locker room, appearing very disappointed, especially since he dreamed of participating in the World Cup for the second consecutive time."

The Egyptian player Mohamed Salah also shared how he coped with the disappointment of not qualifying for the 2022 World Cup after Egypt's loss to Senegal. Salah stated in an interview with "beIN Sports": "It was extremely frustrating after not succeeding. I sit with myself a lot and think deeply; I know that the sadness will linger, but I have decided to continue focusing on my team to try to finish the season in the best way possible."

He confirmed that he did not speak with Sadio Mane following the match, mentioning that he did not discuss any details regarding the game with him. The Egyptian national team had exited the qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup after losing to Senegal in the penalty shootout in the return match, having previously lost to Senegal in the final of the Africa Cup of Nations by penalties as well.
