Berri: The Parliamentary Election on May 15 is the Most Dangerous and Important

The Speaker of the House Nabih Berri received former Health Minister Mohammad Jawad Khalifa in the Adham Khaijar Hall in Misil al, following the completion of the second phase of the parliamentary elections designated for administrative employees’ voting. They discussed general conditions and recent developments, including the upcoming parliamentary elections. He also welcomed delegations from the town of Qana and the town of Sarifa in Tyre District.

Berri also met with the family of Mustafa Zbeib, who died in the Tayouneh incident, as well as a large popular delegation from the town of Kfarhatta, which included the mayor, council members, representatives from families, and active cultural, educational, and political figures, along with the electoral committee for the "Hope and Loyalty" list in the town and the Amal Movement branch in Kfarhatta.

The delegation pledged to President Berri that "the town will remain loyal to the path of resistance, development, and liberation."

He received a large popular delegation from the town of Kfarmelki in the Tuffah District, which included representatives from all families in the town, the selection council, and expatriate and community figures, amid chants of support and allegiance to the Speaker of the House and backing for the path of development, liberation, and resistance.

President Berri reiterated to the delegations in the Adham Khaijar Hall that "the parliamentary election on May 15 is the most dangerous in contemporary Lebanon's history and also the most important since the Taif Agreement," urging "Lebanese voters, especially those from the South, to turn this election into a day for a referendum on national constants, especially the constants of unity and coexistence."

He also received a popular delegation from the town of Kafardounin, with the presence of the mayor and council members and active figures from the town. Following this, he welcomed a large delegation from the town of Houmine al-Tahta, led by the town's Imam Sheikh Ahmad Hamdan and local cultural and educational figures and representatives from families. The Imam delivered a speech praising President Berri's efforts in promoting unity and achieving development. The poet Radi Issa recited a poem dedicated to President Berri and the path of resistance, development, and liberation, as well as to the martyrs.

Additionally, he received a large delegation from the towns of Mayfouq and Nabatiyeh al-Fouqa, comprising their municipal, selection, medical, expatriate figures, and representatives from families of both towns.

In his address to the gathered delegations, President Berri reminded them of "the ongoing aggressive Israeli policy today in Palestine and the massacres committed by the Israeli occupation forces against Lebanon, particularly in 1985 in Houmine al-Tahta, and in 1995 and 1996 in Nabatiyeh al-Fouqa against the al-Badir and al-Abed families, and in Qana, al-Mansouri, and Sahmar." He emphasized "the necessity of transforming May 15 into a day for a referendum on unity, preserving Lebanon's choices in resistance, ensuring coexistence, and honoring the sacrifices of martyrs that led to the liberation of land and people."
