The head of the Food Importers Syndicate, Hani Bahsali, confirmed that "raising the customs dollar to 15,000 LBP will inevitably lead to an increase in the prices of goods subject to customs duties." Bahsali warned in a conversation with "Voice of Lebanon" about "two bombs contained in the budget if the version he received is approved: item 69, which stipulates a 3% increase in the value-added tax, and item 72, which adds a 10% tax on imported items that are also produced by local industries."
