The Lebanese government has decided to exempt Iraqis from the requirement of obtaining a visa to enter Lebanon. The Iraqi News Agency reported that it had seen a document stating that "to activate cooperation with the Republic of Iraq, the Lebanese Cabinet approved the request of the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities concerning the exemption of Iraqis from the need to obtain a visa to enter its territory."
The document added that "a decision was issued to grant Iraqis wishing to come to Lebanon a free entry and stay visa for one month, extendable up to three months for visitors coming for tourism." It continued: "Iraq has been removed from the provision regarding the requirement for arrivals to possess two thousand US dollars in cash or a certified check from a recognized bank as a condition for entering Lebanese territory, following the notice and approval of President Michel Aoun."
