Will Berri Call for a Legislative Session?

Speaker of the House Nabih Berri will not call for a legislative session, as he has not invited the members of the Council's Bureau to meet due to the significant divisive atmosphere, and there are no necessary projects or agendas that warrant a call. Therefore, he will rely on the session he called for Wednesday morning to discuss the indictment in the telecommunications case, aiming to decide on the judicial requests to refer former Ministers of Telecommunications to the High Court for the Trial of Presidents and Ministers. In this context, parliamentary sources stated that the petition, signed by about 25 deputies, needs a third of the votes of the deputies to refer former ministers Nicolas Sehnaoui, Boutros Harb, and Jamal Al-Jarrah to trial, predicting "that this will not happen due to the division within the council," in addition to "not relying on this council to hold deputies and ministers accountable, as every deputy and minister enjoys political immunity alongside their parliamentary immunity."
