Latvian Parliament member Natalia Marchenko-Yudko appointed sorceress Sanita Pietere as her assistant in parliamentary work. Sorceress Pietere stated to the NRA website: "Why the surprise? Can’t a sorceress work in Parliament? I believe we are very important and useful in politics." She emphasized that there are many witches and sorceresses "working closely with politics in Latvia." According to the website's information, Sanita Pietere is considered one of the well-known witches in Latvia and has extensive experience in unconventional medicine, particularly in stone therapy.
