The German Seniors Association has emphasized the importance of influenza vaccination for seniors, as their immune systems tend to be weaker, even if they are in good health. The association explained that influenza infections can take a severe and life-threatening course in older adults, especially if they have chronic conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, or kidney and liver problems. To avoid these risks, the association recommended getting vaccinated against influenza at the beginning of autumn, noting that the vaccine takes effect after 10 to 14 days from administration.
