The automotive magazine "Auto Gazette" reported that driving on wet roads or mud during autumn and winter increases the risk of hydroplaning, resulting in partial or total loss of control over the vehicle. To combat the risk of hydroplaning, the German magazine recommends avoiding sudden braking and steering maneuvers, noting that anti-skid systems like ESP do not prevent hydroplaning if the tires lose contact with the road. In general, hydroplaning occurs first on the front axle, followed by the rear wheels.
