Real Madrid Defeats Mallorca and Regains La Liga Top Spot from Barcelona

Real Madrid, the defending champion, reclaimed the top position in La Liga with a 4-1 victory over host Real Mallorca in the fifth round. Mallorca took the lead with a goal from striker Vedat Muriqi in the 35th minute, but the royal club responded with four goals from Federico Valverde, Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, and Antonio Rudiger in the 45th, 72nd, 89th, and 90th minutes, respectively. Madrid now has 15 points at the top of La Liga, ahead of their closest rival, Barcelona, by two points, with Barcelona winning 4-0 against Cadiz yesterday. Meanwhile, Mallorca remains at five points in 13th place.
