France witnessed a seventh day of protests on Saturday against President Emmanuel Macron's plans to amend the retirement system to raise the retirement age to 64 instead of 62, amid ongoing strikes affecting oil refineries, public transport, and garbage collection.
The protests began in the morning in major cities including Toulouse and Nice. Data from the Ministry of the Interior indicates that around one million people are expected to participate in more than 200 marches across the country, while the Senate continues to review the amendments with a potential vote scheduled for tomorrow evening, Sunday.
