The army leadership announced via its Twitter account the completion of rescue operations off Salaita. The tweet stated: "The naval forces, in cooperation with UNIFIL, have rescued the individuals onboard the vessel off the coast of Salaita, totaling 232, and they are currently being transferred to the port of Tripoli. Additionally, the bodies of two individuals who drowned during the rescue operation have been recovered." It is noted that the two victims were Syrian nationals, a mother and her son.
