U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced that there is a decrease in tensions with China, but he reiterated his concerns regarding Taiwan. When asked at the University of Chicago if tensions had decreased with China, Blinken responded: "I think so, because when you talk and engage, that tends to have that effect." He stated, "The rest of the world expects us to manage this relationship responsibly," as other countries "know that it will affect them as well."
