Eleven children lost their lives and another was injured in an explosion of munitions remnants in South Sudan. Linda Tom, spokesperson for the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), reported that the incident occurred in a remote village in the Western Bahr el Ghazal state, located northwest of the capital, Juba. She noted that the scale of this tragedy is enormous, emphasizing that the risks from unexploded ordnance remain, particularly with buried bombs that need to be removed and defused for the safety of civilians.
