The Iraqi News Agency reported today, Thursday, citing the media advisor to Prime Minister Hisham al-Rikabi, that for the first time since 2022, oil revenues from the semi-autonomous Kurdistan region of Iraq will be transferred to a bank account subject to federal government oversight. The implications of this move are not yet fully understood as the government in Iraq is still being formed eight months after the elections.
