Earthquake Measuring 5.5 Strikes Northwestern Iran

A 5.5 magnitude earthquake shook the city of Khoy in West Azerbaijan Province, northwestern Iran, this Friday morning. The mayor of Khoy announced that six teams from the Red Crescent have been dispatched to the earthquake-affected area to assess potential damage. There have been no reports of potential casualties. The relatively strong earthquake was felt by residents in the cities of Urmia and Tabriz.
