Hani Bhashli, the head of the Food Importers Syndicate, confirmed that the impact of the increase in the customs dollar will not be drastic on food prices, affecting only about 6 percent of the items. In a conversation with "Voice of Lebanon," he noted that "the exchange rate of the dollar affects price increases more significantly, and we hope that the regulatory authorities will curb the rises and violations in prices, especially since we are in the holiday season."
