Putin and Tokayev Discuss the Creation of a

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev discussed the establishment of a "Trilateral Gas Union" consisting of Russia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan during talks held at the Kremlin. According to the official spokesperson for the Kazakh presidency, Ruslan Jildibay Sultanuly, "the discussions at the Kremlin included coordinating actions for transporting Russian gas through the territories of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan." Both Presidents Tokayev and Putin expressed their belief in the necessity of detailed negotiations involving experts from the three countries to find a rational solution to this issue, taking into account the interests of all parties involved. The Kazakh president was on an official visit to Moscow yesterday, marking his first visit since being elected president.
