Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy lost an appeal against a 2021 judgment that convicted him in a corruption and influence peddling case, at the Paris appeals court on Wednesday. The court upheld a sentence of 3 years in prison, 2 of which are suspended. It stated, "The former president will wear an electronic bracelet instead of serving time in prison during the third year."
