Explosion in Border Patrol Building in Russia

An explosion and fire occurred in a building of the border patrol affiliated with the Russian Federal Security Service in the city of Rostov-on-Don, in the south of the country. At least one person was killed and two others were injured, according to officials speaking to Russian news agencies.

News agencies reported that the Federal Security Service stated a fire broke out in a workshop, leading to an explosion and the collapse of part of the building. They added that there were casualties but did not provide further details. Rostov Governor Vasily Golubev indicated that the fire apparently resulted from an electrical short circuit. He mentioned in a message posted on his Telegram channel that the spread of the fire caused the explosion of fuel and lubricant tanks.
