Death of Former Juventus and Uruguay National Player

The Uruguayan Football Association announced on Sunday the death of Fabian O'Neill, a former national team midfielder who played for Juventus, Cagliari, and Perugia in Italy, at the age of 49. The sports news network "ESPN" reported that O'Neill was hospitalized on Saturday while in a coma, suffering from bleeding due to a chronic liver disease. The midfielder participated in 19 matches with Uruguay and was part of his country's squad for the 2002 World Cup in South Korea and Japan, although he did not play in any matches.
