Financial Aid for Ukraine Amounting to 18 Billion Euros

The Czech Republic, which currently holds the presidency of the European Union Council, announced that representatives of EU member states have reached an agreement on a financial aid package for Ukraine totaling 18 billion euros. The Czech Republic's mission to the EU tweeted that the delegates "agreed on a package of assistance for Ukraine worth 18 billion euros, a corporate tax rate of at least 15 percent, approval of Hungary's reconstruction and stability plan, and agreement on the conditions." The EU Council had approved the provision of 18 billion euros in aid to Ukraine for the year 2023 in the form of a 10-year loan on December 10.
