A recent study has warned about the dangers of drinking water and liquids from reusable bottles. The study conducted by "WaterFilterGuru" in Denver, Colorado, revealed that reusable water bottles contain bacteria that are 40,000 times higher than those found on toilet seats.
According to Fox News, reusable water bottles often harbor "Gram-negative" bacteria, which have antibiotic resistance. The study indicated that this type of bacteria is often food spoilage-related, disease-causing, and can lead to gastrointestinal problems.
Scientists also discovered that reusable bottles contain double the germs found on kitchen sinks and can harbor four times the amount of bacteria found on a computer mouse, and 14 times more than a pet's water bowl.
Health experts recommend washing reusable bottles at least once a day with hot water and soap.
