Title: Loan Repayment in US Dollars Only

The Central Bank of Lebanon issued a circular numbered 656 to banks and financial institutions, relating to the amendment of the primary decision number 7776 dated 21/2/2001 (on lending and investment operations, contributions, and participation), accompanied by the basic circular number 81. The circular indicates that banks and financial institutions operating in Lebanon must not accept the repayment of loans granted in foreign currencies to non-residents, including offshore companies, except from new funds transferred from abroad.
