The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is considering the possibility of extending the weekend to three days, thereby shortening the workweek. The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development stated that a draft for a shorter workweek has been sent through the country's survey platform for public consultation. If implemented, Saudi Arabia would become the second Arab country to adopt shorter workweeks after the United Arab Emirates. Employees in Sharjah, UAE, enjoy a three-day weekend that includes Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
