UNESCO: The US Plans to Rejoin the Organization

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) indicated on Monday that the United States intends to restore its membership in the organization starting in July. UNESCO's Director-General Audrey Azoulay stated in a press release regarding the US's return to the organization, "It is a bold act of confidence in UNESCO and in multilateralism." Washington had withdrawn from the organization in December 2018.
