French President Emmanuel Macron has arrived in Beijing at the beginning of an official visit, during which he will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The visit will last three days, from April 5 to April 7.
In a previous statement, Macron emphasized that "we must try as much as possible to engage China alongside us to pressure Russia not to use chemical and nuclear weapons, to stop the conflict, return to the negotiating table, and ensure respect for international law, namely the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine."
The French president and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen have traveled to China in an effort to present a "unified voice" to Beijing.
