The Israeli Foreign Ministry confirmed today, Wednesday, that Poland will repatriate its ambassador to Israel following a deterioration in relations between the two countries due to Israeli school trips to Holocaust memorial sites in Poland. The ministry stated, "We are beginning a new chapter in relations with Poland. The return of the Polish ambassador to Israel and the resumption of school trips to Poland are important steps in strengthening relations between the two countries." It is noteworthy that Poland and Israel pledged in July to improve relations that had soured after Warsaw proposed a law limiting the ability of Jews to reclaim properties that date back to World War II. The two countries stated that they would exchange the sending of ambassadors.
