Venezuelan state television reported today that Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has arrived in Caracas at the start of a tour in Latin America that also includes Cuba and Nicaragua. The official Iranian news agency mentioned last week that Raisi is expected to sign agreements to enhance bilateral cooperation during the visit, without providing further details. Iran is set to participate in a modernization project at Venezuela's largest refinery complex, which includes the Amuay and Cardon refineries, among other goals to restore distillation capacity.
