The U.S. Geological Survey reported today, Thursday, that a 6.6 magnitude earthquake struck the Darién Gulf near the Panama-Colombia border late last night. Nine minutes later, the agency noted that a 4.9 magnitude aftershock shook the same area. The survey indicated that both earthquakes occurred at a depth of ten kilometers. There have been no reports of damage yet.
