Minister of Communications Johnny Karam noted, "We have entered the open period of the presidential vacuum, as there is a divergence and discrepancy in positions so far and unfortunately, nothing is expected in the near future." In response to a question about the possibility of increasing tariffs to secure the demands of employees of the cellular companies, he clarified in an interview with "Voice of Lebanon" that "the agreement we reached with them is the same as it was before their strike," stressing that "no decision will be made before conducting a comprehensive financial study to ensure the feasibility of granting increases without affecting the tariffs." Regarding "Ogero," Karam confirmed that "the situation is difficult given the current exchange rate of the dollar, and the tariffs at Ogero need to be adjusted at the appropriate time, but the time is not suitable today."
