Black Market Dollar Approaches 100,000 LBP

The exchange rate of the dollar against the Lebanese lira this Tuesday morning in the unofficial foreign exchange market "parallel market" and among money changers ranged between 98,400 and 99,800 LBP per dollar. The dollar closed last night, Monday, at a price that ranged between 98,300 and 98,800 LBP per dollar. The Central Bank of Lebanon announced in a statement yesterday that "the trading volume on the 'Sayrafa' platform reached 80 million US dollars at an average of 75,800 Lebanese lira per dollar, according to the exchange rates of transactions executed by banks and exchange institutions on the platform."
