Authorities in Hong Kong evacuated around 3,600 people from the densely populated Kowloon area on Friday due to a fire that broke out in a warehouse. Firefighters were unable to extinguish it until more than five hours after it started. The authorities urged residents to close their doors and windows and to remain calm, especially since the fire produced an unusual smell carried by the winds. No reports of injuries or fatalities have been received.
