The Syndicates of Used Car Importers in Lebanon and car dealership owners in Mount Lebanon carried out a protest on Tuesday against the Ministry of Finance's decision to implement customs dollar rates based on the Sayrafa exchange rate. Protesters blocked the Charles Helou highway in both directions using burning tires and stones, causing severe traffic congestion in the area. They demanded the cancellation of the consumption tax and warned of the negative impact on the used car import sector.
