Indian authorities, who currently preside over the G20, stated that "most member countries strongly condemned the Ukraine war, except for China and Russia," following a meeting of the group's foreign ministers. The "summary and outcome document" issued by India after the meeting largely adhered to the language used in a similar statement released after the meeting of finance ministers and central bank governors of the group earlier in the week. During this meeting as well, Russia and China opposed the statements condemning the war.
