Japan Protests Chinese Ships Entering Its Territorial Waters

Japan has expressed "serious concern" and lodged a protest with China after Chinese navy ships entered Japanese waters near Yakushima Island on Thursday. Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno indicated that "two Chinese coast guard vessels also entered Japanese waters around the Senkaku Islands, which China calls Diaoyu, and attempted to approach a Japanese fishing boat."
