Iran Responds to Targeting of Its Bases in Syria

The spokesman for the Iranian Supreme National Security Council, Keyvan Khosravi, confirmed on Saturday that the strikes targeting Iranian-linked bases in Syria will be met with a decisive response. According to the semi-official news agency Nournews, Khosravi stated: "Any justification for targeting the bases established at the request of the Syrian government to counter terrorism and the elements of the Islamic State in this country will be met with a counter and decisive response." This comes after reports of 19 people being killed in airstrikes, marking one of the most violent confrontations between the United States and Iranian-aligned forces in years.
