Russia Accuses American Pilots of Serious Violations in Syria

The Russian forces in Syria have accused American pilots of violating protocols aimed at avoiding collisions and of activating weapon systems when approaching Russian aircraft. Russian news agency reported that the head of the Russian reconciliation center in Syria, Admiral Oleg Gorinov, stated, "American pilots activated their weapon systems while approaching Russian aircraft over the eastern part of the country." In March, Gorinov had previously protested against "provocative actions" by American forces in Syria. Russia and the United States had agreed on specific areas where the coalition could operate, but he noted that American forces have been observed outside these areas.
