The following statement was issued by the Saudi Press Agency: His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received in Riyadh the Prime Minister of Lebanon, Najib Mikati.
During the reception, aspects of the bilateral relations between the two countries were reviewed. The Lebanese Prime Minister expressed his ongoing gratitude and appreciation for the Kingdom's historical positions towards Lebanon and its fundamental role in establishing Lebanese reconciliation and solidifying a phase of peace following the adoption of the National Accord Document at the Taif Conference.
He also reaffirmed the Lebanese government's commitment to taking all necessary steps to prevent any harm to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and all Arab countries, especially the Gulf Cooperation Council states.
The importance of electing a president for Lebanon and implementing reforms that the Lebanese people and the international community are looking forward to was also emphasized during the reception. The Crown Prince reaffirmed the Kingdom's commitment to Lebanon's security and stability, as well as the continued humanitarian support provided by the Kingdom and France to the Lebanese people.
